Adidas old school

ÿþletter J' take on the adidas ZX 500 is a Adidas old school deceptively simple design with functional and subtle additions that build on the simple upper perfectly alongside some more eyecatching touches. The hexagonal detail goes beyond the low-key detailing on the upper, with a honeycombed rip stop style material, red ghilly lacestays, a heel pattern that carries a thorn print to reflect the Compound Gallery's focus on art. Reflective material sits alongside black denim, with the decision to add Dellinger Web technology to the midsole. Completed with patterned laces and an aerial view on the footbed, performance meets creativity, head-on.

Look for the Just Be collaboration in September 2008.Boston-based Bodega's clever storefront design with the entrance concealed behind a mock convenience store front has become the stuff of legend. Offering a Adidas nizza "hidden in plain sight"-style aesthetic, the brilliantly cheeky speakeasy-style entryway offers an experience unlike any other retailer. Now Bodega is bringing that same aesthetic onto their newest adidas collaboration, adding unique details and references onto the adidas Kamanda and the adidas Sobakov without Adidas gazelle shoes subtracting from the striking silhouettes to create a soccer-inspired collaboration perfect for a World Cup year.

Grey ripstop panelling, down to the toebox, leather and suede 3-Stripes, complemented by a reflective trim, and the replacement of ghilly lacing in favour of grey and blue D-rings for the top three lace holes, makes it look more intimidating than ever. Blue printed lettering highlighting both model and store alternately, grey-on-grey Dellinger webbing on the midsole, black and blue on the outsole and a pick of rounded hiker-style laces, or flats, Adidas goodyear plus a padded lining for comfort, indicates that the Livestock crew thought this project through to the tiniest detail, taking this runner well off the beaten track.

Just a day after the project was teased and we're already getting a complete view of what's in store for the Hanon x adidas Consortium team up. Pictured here is the red and grey result in all its glory, with the adidas Consortium CNTR being the model selected for the team up. The stony colorway is apparently a nod to Hanon's hometown of Aberdeen and its "Granite City" nickname. Hit the jump for the full look at the Hanon x adidas Consortium CNTR and look for them to drop at Hanon come January 26th. As always, check back with Sneaker News for word on whether or not they'll be stopping by at other retailers around the globe.

The classic DNA of both shoes is clearly intact on the revamped designs, but modern-day touches on each Adidas barricade gives them a pop of unique flair: the re-worked Falcon features a high sock style collar and a Primeknit upper, while the usual lace system is replaced by a minimal toggle variation. The modernized SS2g already a redone version of the classic adidas Superstar features the same toggle lacing system, a stripped-back design where suede overlays and a neoprene tongue cover an off-white mesh upper while bright yellow stitching arrives around the toe cap. Both arrive in a clean combination of white, navy blue, and yellow, and are set to release at authorized Three Stripes stockists August 8th.
